Serve It On The Tennis Court
|
I personally don't play tennis much less know how the game is played. However, I do have friends who LOVE tennis. This past weekend, I went to watch a friend play in a tennis match. He was telling me about a rubber band use for a tennis racquet. He had learned that Andre Agassi would tie a rubber band around the two main strings in his racquet, to regulate the degree of dampening and create a desired feel. I found this very interesting and thought I would share. • Tie around in a single knot while keeping the band square to the strings. • Adjust to your desired tension. • Use a 1/4" band so it stays snug and in place. If you love tennis and have tried this before, let me know how it worked for you. Also, if you have anymore suggestions on how to use rubber bands in a tennis game, please share. Many baseball players search for ways to improve their swings. Rubber bands can help with that. Simply place the rubber bands onto the barrel of the bat about 3 inches apart centered on the sweet spot. The rubber bands will serve as a visual cue to help the hitter keep the sweet spot in the hitting zone. Be sure your hands are ahead of the barrel of the bat and that the sweet spot (as marked by the rubber bands) is on the ball. Swing Away!
Untied shoe laces can drive some parents crazy….especially during sporting events like soccer games. Kids often take themselves out of play due to unnecessary shoelace issues. Even a double knot won’t guarantee that the shoes stay tied.
Think rubber bands don’t make a difference in the lives of children? Think again. Rubber bands are in almost everything they do. Oh, the games that they make possible, not to mention the crafts and hairstyles. From braces to improving fine motor skills, they are with our kids, every step of the way. Special thanks to Janet, who sent in this week’s blog post photo. She says using a rubber band is great to help steady crayons and pencils.

A new baseball glove needs a few things before heading out into the baseball field. A brand new glove can be hard and difficult to bend when you need to catch the ball. So, it’s important to soften one up before attempting to use it for the first time. Most people don’t know it, but rubber bands can help with that process.
