In today’s blog, we’d like to highlight a couple of GREAT rubber band uses submitted by Cornelia from Arkansas.

“Recycle and repurpose” is her motto.

She says, “My trainer wants me to hydrate and have natural snacks. The band holds sticks and slices in baggies great--it even washes along with the band-aid brand adhesive strip! The asparagus come with their own band, but I find they stay fresher in the fridge if they are wrapped in paper towels with a rubber band to hold it all in place.”

So multi-purposeful.  Don’t forget to grab some rubber bands today.

We’d like to thank Tamar, the winner of our August 20th blog comment contest. Tamar will receive a prize pack and free Bandology T-shirt.

I personally love rubberbands, they kept the stinky boys away when I was young, while you are waiting to use make a fun rubberband ball- and great exercise...I use them today to keep wires off and away and use special colored twisted around things so I can grab a cord in a hurry without writing or stinking tape to it. Its also great to hang the Christmas ornaments on the tree and adds color instead of sharp paperclips - and yes rubberbands are still fun for coordination practice anywhere you go

what would we do without them. They hold our papers together. They hold my socks together(in the drawer of course not on me. on the other hand when I was a kid I used them to hold my socks up when they had a loose top). What would we do to hold our braids without them.Rubber bands.. very needed stuff.

In hot weather I tie my hair back using rubber bands, I know it causes the ends to break but the bands are so convenient

I use rubber bands for everything such as keeping all my different colored pens together to holding all the wires behind my computer together in several places to keep them from gettig twisted and knotted. I especially like the ones I get with my mail. They are long and strong and i use them to slide over a book I'm reading in order to hold my page place. It's so much better than a conventional bookmark which usually fall out, especially when I'm travelling.

When traveling I take my daily medicine in a pill box with seven slots, one for each day. In the past the pill box compartments popped open in my purse and/or luggage. I now wrap a rubberband around the pill box lengthwise, which keeps the contents from spilling out during travel. Very convenient!

I have the hardest time getting frozen food bags like fish sticks and meatballs that are supposedly resealable to actually reseal. My solution has been to take the large, thick rubber bands I have around the house that I've acquired from things like buying asparagus and use these bands to keep my frozen foods closed up tight.

A fun use for children's get togethers is to slip a different colored rubber band around drinking glasses so they can be easily identified.

I use rubber bands for couponing, to hold markers/pins in bunches, and also around my mail and big stacks of paper! Useful little things they are!

The most difficult part of this is actually eating the vegetables. Though that is a god way to keep it all together if you are on a hike and want a light snack to keep with you, but instead of veggies i would have a delicious candy bar.

We have a giant bag of rubberbands in a drawer in the kitchen. We use them for so many items from tying back hair, to closing bags of food, etc.
