Kitchen Hacks… with Rubber Bands

Tuesday, July 24, 2018

If you’re like us, it seems like there’s always something in the kitchen that could use better organization or fixing, doesn’t it? We’re always searching the internet for new ideas to share with our readers. Here are a few we’ve recently come across!

If you use a recipe file box with index cards, wrap rubber bands around the box to separate the different sections.
Trash bags always slipping off the can? Use Can Bandz™ to secure them.
Thrifty tip: wrap a rubber band around the neck of your liquid soap dispenser to reduce the amount of soap that comes out. This one’s especially good if you have little ones who like to push the pump all the way down.
Make an organizer board for glasses, keys, pens, mail, etc. Wrap rubber bands around a piece of wood to secure items.

If your spoons keep slipping into the sauce pan or mixing bowl, wrap a rubber band around the top to help it grip the side and stay in place.

Slippery cutting boards can be both messy and hazardous to the chef. Stop a cutting board from sliding across the counter by wrapping a rubber band around each end.

Every now and then, you run into a bottle or jar with a top that just won’t budge no matter how hard you try. The remedy is simple: Wrap a rubber band around the top a few times, then give it another try. Chances are it’ll immediately come loose. This also works for gripping water bottles, baby bottles and sippy cups. Using rubber bands or the Rubber Slip-On Grip™ makes opening your stubborn jars easy!
