Alliance Rubber Company Named Top American Manufacturer by Made in the USA Foundation and Made Movement
HOT SPRINGS, Ark., July 18, 2013 — Alliance Rubber Company, a leading global supplier of rubber bands, office and packaging supplies, announced today that it is one of two recipients of Top American Manufacturer honors in the Office Supplies category by Made in the USA Foundation and Made Movement.
Made in the USA Foundation and Made Movement recently honored the outstanding achievements of the top companies that manufacture and/or assemble products in the United States at its annual Hall of Fame Awards Dinner.
“We host this awards dinner yearly to recognize and build awareness of the creativity, skill and talent of the best American manufacturers. These companies make a choice to grow their business in the U.S. which keeps many Americans employed and is what will help revive our economy,” said Made in the USA Foundation Co-founder Joel D. Joseph.
“Alliance’s commitment to growing the U.S. economy through manufacturing, as well as accurate Made in the USA labeling, fits well with those values promoted by Made in the USA Foundation,” said Bonnie Swayze, president of Alliance Rubber Company.
Among the 68 nominees, 27 winners were selected. The winning companies were selected based on three criteria: quality, competiveness and impact. In addition to Alliance, other winners included Maker’s Mark, Woodford Reserve, Tesla S, Ford C-Max, Precor, Wahl, Makita, Snap-on Tools, Corning, American Leather, Merle Norman, Hudson Jeans, American Apparel, Chevrolet Silverado and Ram trucks.
In addition to promoting U.S. manufacturers, Made in the USA Foundation pursues litigation and legislative action to strengthen and uphold labeling laws and standards. It also encourages American values around the world, raising the bar concerning minimum wages, environmental standards, labor rights and human rights, including eliminating child labor. Currently, the foundation is working on the Refine American-Made Project (RAMP) to create a single U.S. standard for the definition of “Made in the USA.” It has also launched the Retailer Membership Program that provides signage to retail stores that offer American-made products so that customers can easily distinguish the stores.
Alliance Rubber Company’s “Make It In America Pledge” encourages individuals to make an effort to spend more on American-made products. By spending just $1 a day on American-made items it is possible to create 1 million new American jobs. Earlier this year, the company received the Made in USA Certified Product Innovation of the Year Award for exhibiting excellence in United States manufacturing best practices and standards and contributing to job creation in the United States and accurate labeling.
