EPDM Agricultural Products

What is EPDM?

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. This type of synthetic rubber provides incredible resiliency for a wide range of applications. The tight stretch and heavy wall are specifically designed for industrial use. With a working temperature from -50 to 300 degrees, any of our EPDM products are rugged enough to handle outdoor applications in extreme conditions. You can read our comprehensive explanation of EPDM here or watch the video here!

EPDM Agricultural ProductsThe Premier Weather-Resistant Elastomer for Extreme Temperature Resistance and Durability

From aqueous-based agricultural chemical spray hoses to anchor bands  —  EPDM products are trusted by professionals in the Agricultural Industry for the unsurpassed quality and performance they provide. That’s because the EPDM compound is heat, sunlight, ozone, and weather resistant (just to name a few). Made to last for many years, EPDM bands will also stretch to accommodate the growth of plants when used in vine-tying or tree grafting applications, making them even more suitable to the Agricultural Industry’s needs.

What are the most popular applications for EPDM in the Agricultural Industry?
A very important aspect of the industry is the movement and transfer of air, water, fertilizer, and fuel with high-pressure hydraulics. From highly corrosive insecticides and fungicide spraying in fields, orchards, gardens, and vineyards to something as simple as water pumped through soaker hoses, EPDM is the premier all-weather material to get the job done. Not only will you find it in the hoses but you will also find EPDM rubber in the bands used to secure irrigation tubes to wire and stakes.

Are there any limitations to EPDM?
EPDM is not recommended for uses requiring resistance to oil, gasoline, and hydrocarbons. It displays limited compression set resistance and offers poor adhesion to fabrics and metals.

What are some lesser-known uses for EPDM in the Agricultural Industry?
EPDM is also used in weather strips and door seals that are vital to the operation of agricultural machinery. These components prevent water, air, dust, and noise from entering the vehicle to provide greater control from the outside environment. You’ll also find that hood seals, trim seals, edge trims, window channels, and window seals are all manufactured with EPDM!
