As a manufacturer of rubber bands, you can imagine that we develop products for a wide range of uses. From parachute rigging to tie-dying and even tattoos! Rubber bands are used around the machine needles and ensure a stable needle and smoother outlines. If the tattoo machine makes a rattling noise and the needle bar shakes during the tattoo, rubber bands provide a simple fix! Tattoo artists say that they’re a “must have” for all standard coil tattoo machines.
Tattoo Rubber Bands are also used with flat shading needles (when the tube tip is open on top). They allow the needle to move properly and prevent swaying.
Should You Get a Tattoo in the Summer or Winter?
During the summer months, tattoo shops surge with walk-ins and tourists. This might lead you to believe that it’s the best time of year to get a tattoo, but according to many tattoo shop owners the best time to get a tattoo is actually in the fall or winter months.
Time to Heal Tattoos
In the cooler months, you will sweat less, and your skin will be less exposed to the elements. This will make it possible for the tattoo to heal more quickly, reduce chances of infection, and ensure the entire healing process is seamless.
Another benefit, if you get tattooed in the winter the artwork will be completely healed by the time summer sets in.
The Quiet of Winter in Tattoo Shops
When you want the full attention of your tattoo artist, it’s best to avoid the tourist season (a.k.a. summer). Less walk-in and tourist traffic coming through studios means your favorite artists will have more time, and shorter waiting lists. Just another reason to choose the cooler months for your tattoo!
