We have all been here before: You are indulging in a food contained by a large bowl; oftentimes cereal or soup. Whatever your dish may be, at some point you must set the spoon down, and then it happens:
Your spoon falls in the dish. Now you must place your bare hand in the bowl and dig around the depths of your food to set it free.
We shouldn’t have to dig for our own shovel. Thanks to the nifty use of a rubber band, these days can be done. Simply tie a rubber band around the spoon where it would be set on the bowl’s edge.
Do this next time you treat yourself to a large bowl of soup, and you’ll be glad you can set your spoon down to grab the remote control.
