A Rubber Band Chair is No Stretch of the Imagination

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Dutch post-Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh once said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”

We admire a great work of art that Preston Miller of Cleveland, N.C. made using rubber bands in 2013.

Art is more than just wall paintings. The Oxford English Dictionary defines art as “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Naturally, Mr. Miller’s chair strikes a chord with us because it is made entirely of rubber bands. Please take a moment to appreciate the beauty Mr. Miller created.
